Playgroup Tasmania acknowledges that we live, work and play on Aboriginal land, land of the palawa/pakana people of lutruwita (Tasmania). We pay our respects to the Tasmanian Aboriginal community, to elders past and present and to all those who continue caring for country, sharing stories and upholding rights.

History

Playgroups have a long history in Tasmanian communities

Playgroup Tasmania is a not-for-profit, state-based membership organisation set-up by passionate playgroup volunteers, managers and families more than 40 years ago

We provide support and resources to assist Tasmanians to establish, co-ordinate, administer and promote playgroups across our state.

Through volunteering and outreach, our Members continue to provide and support playgroups in our communities for the benefit of children and caregivers alike. The playgroup movement has a history stretching back to the 1980s.
