Tasmania’s first Child and Youth Wellbeing Strategy
The Tasmanian Government is developing Tasmania’s first Child and Youth Wellbeing Strategy for 0-25 year olds and as a consultation partner, Playgroup Tasmania is supporting children and families to have their voices included.
30 Community playgroups right across Tasmania received a child’s voice craft activity. This activity gave our littlest Tasmanians the chance to be part of the conversation. All playgroups also received postcards to the Premier to allow parents to further contribute their thoughts.
We are facilitating discussions and craft activities at King Island, Dilston, Jetsonville, South Hobart and Port Sorell Playgroups, as well as our PlayConnect playgroups. The Playgroup Tasmania hall in Invermay has been set up to encourage conversations with all the users of the space, encouraging families and caregivers, family day carers and service providers to have their say. The Playgroup Tasmania hall is also a postbox location for postcards to the Premier. We have raised awareness of the Wellbeing Strategy website through our social media platforms, including our statewide Facebook page, as well as our e-newsletter which is sent to all Playgroup Tasmania members.
