More information about the small grants program

What is the purpose of the grants?

We want even more families to enjoy the benefits of play and to connect with other families and children in their communities, celebrating the rights of all children.

The continued purpose of the grants program is to increase the number, diversity and accessibility of Children’s Week activities held in 2026.

This year, 10 grants of $1,000 are available and there will be a strong focus on accessibility, making it easier for families to attend events in Tasmania.

*’Accessibility’ is defined as physical, geographic, cost, developmental and literacy related accessibility. For example, holding an event in a remote community, providing free transportation or using simple language, visuals, and translated materials to support people with different literacy levels are all ways to make your event accessible to a wider range of people.
