Playgroup Tasmania is committed to promoting and protecting the safety and wellbeing of all children. Everyone has a role to play in keeping children safe from harm and creating child safe and child friendly communities.

Playgroup Tasmania acknowledges that we live, work and play on Aboriginal land, land of the palawa people of lutruwita (Tasmania). We pay our respects to the Tasmanian Aboriginal community, to elders past and present and to all those who continue caring for country, sharing stories and upholding rights.

Volunteer with us

Volunteering at playgroup is a great way to support children and families in your community. There are roles to suit a wide range of interests, skills and availability.

You might like to:

  • Help lead a playgroup in your community, or even start a new one
  • Support the Playgroup Tasmania team at community events
  • Help promote a playgroup by assisting with social media, letter-dropping or putting up posters
  • Prepare activities for a playgroup from your own home

Whether you prefer to be involved directly in a playgroup or support behind the scenes, we can work together to find a way for you to get involved.

All volunteers need to follow Playgroup Tasmania’s child safety screening and induction. Playgroup Tasmania will guide you through each step and support you along the way.

"We love Playconnect. I wish we could attend more than once a week. It’s been so great for children with needs and delays to just be accepted, and parents to be heard and understood. It’s the best.”
