Playgroup Tasmania acknowledges that we live, work and play on Aboriginal land, land of the palawa people of lutruwita (Tasmania). We pay our respects to the Tasmanian Aboriginal community, to elders past and present and to all those who continue caring for country, sharing stories and upholding rights.
Alison’s background in early childhood education brought her to Tasmania to work with children and families and eventually led to her joining the Playgroup Tasmania team in 2019. Since then, she has worked alongside staff, volunteers and playgroup leaders to continuously improve the work we do with playgroups statewide.
Alison loves supporting families with young children to live in communities where they feel welcomed, supported and able to thrive.
As part of this, she is focused on ensuring playgroup policies and programs hold children at the centre and are safe for everyone. Alison also oversees the Playgroup Tasmania Online Resource Hub where playgroup leaders and volunteers can access a free library full of useful checklists, templates and policies to help run their playgroups.
"We all really enjoy it and appreciate all the effort that goes in to making it happen every week."
