Playgroup Tasmania acknowledges that we live, work and play on Aboriginal land, land of the palawa people of lutruwita (Tasmania). We pay our respects to the Tasmanian Aboriginal community, to elders past and present and to all those who continue caring for country, sharing stories and upholding rights.

Project Lead, Intergenerational Program & Children’s Week

Amanda’s experience combines nursing and aged care management. This gives her a deep understanding of the needs of older adults, children and the importance of meaningful connection across generations.

She applied this knowledge to support development and delivery of Playgroup Tasmania’s innovative Wisdom & Wonder Play program, which connects families and aged Tasmanians through play.

Amanda also brings her skills and knowledge to planning and running annual Children’s Week activities every October. This includes managing the small grants program that supports playgroups and other organisations to promote and grow their events.

One of Amanda’s favourite things about playgroups is their ability to help families build community. She particularly values how Playgroup Tasmania supports parents and caregivers to connect while also giving children opportunities to learn, explore and develop.

"We all really enjoy it and appreciate all the effort that goes in to making it happen every week."
