Playgroup Tasmania acknowledges that we live, work and play on Aboriginal land, land of the palawa people of lutruwita (Tasmania). We pay our respects to the Tasmanian Aboriginal community, to elders past and present and to all those who continue caring for country, sharing stories and upholding rights.

Bec Bowen

Coordinator, Early Support Programs

Bec coordinates our early support and inclusion programs, including PlayConnect+ and PALS.

Her community engagement skills ensure stakeholders are involved in designing and implementing evidence based playgroup programs that fit each community’s needs.

She has worked in early support for many years with a focus on empowering families and strengthening inclusive, connected communities through thoughtful, collaborative practice.

The opportunity to support families early, strengthen community connections and contribute to meaningful, preventative approaches in the early years drives Bec’s work.

Bec is inspired by the positive impact playgroups have on families and the vital role they play supporting early childhood development and community wellbeing throughout Tasmania.

"Creating new friendships with other parents gives me a reason to get out of the house with a small child."
