Playgroup Tasmania acknowledges that we live, work and play on Aboriginal land, land of the palawa/pakana people of lutruwita (Tasmania). We pay our respects to the Tasmanian Aboriginal community, to elders past and present and to all those who continue caring for country, sharing stories and upholding rights.
Intergenerational playgroups offer the chance to bridge the generational gap by using play to bring parents/caregivers and children together with aged care and retirement village residents and seniors’ groups.
ABC TV’s heart-warming show Old People’s Home for 4 year olds will give you a taste of what intergenerational playgroups are like and how interactions and connections between our oldest and youngest generations can enrich everyone involved.

These groups run in a similar way to community playgroups while offering something extra special for all involved.
"Playgroup provides an opportunity for parents to interact and create social connections, which can be incredibly challenging at this stage of life if you don't have established family/friendship networks around you."
