Playgroup Tasmania acknowledges that we live, work and play on Aboriginal land, land of the palawa people of lutruwita (Tasmania). We pay our respects to the Tasmanian Aboriginal community, to elders past and present and to all those who continue caring for country, sharing stories and upholding rights.
Happy National Children’s Week, everyone!
Each year Children’s Week honours the right of children to enjoy their childhood and celebrates their important achievements. This is a special time to recognise and value children’s talents, skills and contributions in across Tasmania.
There is nothing more important than ensuring that all children and young people are known, heard, included, safe in all environments, well, thriving and are learning every day.
The 2025 Children’s Week theme – Everyone should know about Children’s Rights! – champions the rights of children to thrive, play, and to be heard.
I urge everyone in the wider community to familiarise themselves with, and to promote children’s rights as set out in the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.
There are so many exciting opportunities for children to become involved this Children’s Week at family friendly activities and events across our beautiful state.
I am thrilled to be attending a Teddy Bear Hunt this year and I encourage everyone to find out what is happening in their community and to come along and join in the fun!
Together, we can help to build the foundations for children to thrive, with bright lives and positive futures.
Playgroup leaders can now access easy-to-use resources and training online at the Playgroup Tasmania Resource Hub.
B4 works to bring businesses, government and community together to give all Tasmanian children the best start in life.
